Trauma Recovery Programmes
National accreditation standards for trauma recovery programmes— posttraumatic stress disorder. Day Programmes for posttraumatic stress disorder funded by Department of Veterans Affairs
The national accreditation standards for trauma recovery programmes provide a framework for improving the quality of services to veterans. They draw upon best-practice evidence presented in the Australian guidelines for the treatment of acute stress disorder and posttraumatic stress disorder (ACPMH 2013) and are adapted for group-based PTSD treatment programmes.
The TRP standards prioritise individual trauma-focused therapy as the cornerstone of the programme’s treatment and provide a useful basis for the design of any group-based day programme for first responders.
DNV GL was granted approval to assess the TRP standards – day programmes in November 2016.
